What is the difference between a limited edition print and an open edition print?…

…A limited edition print is a print of an original piece of artwork which has a predetermined and limited edition size. For example painting ‘A’ may have an edition size of 100. This means there will never be more than 100 of this particular piece printed and available with the exception of the artist’s proof and the printers proof both of which will be labelled as either AP or HC. Though rare, these proofs may be available for sale at some point in the future. The scarcity of limited edition prints and the limited chance to own one means they are more expensive than open edition prints.

An open edition print is a piece of art which has no upper limit to the amount of copies which may be produced by the publisher. Open edition prints are cheaper to purchase than limited edition prints.

Will the edition size of a limited edition print ever increase?…

… No. All limited edition prints from me are guaranteed to never have the print run size increased.

How long will it take for my print to be dispatched?…

…1 to 2 weeks though it is most often a much shorter timeframe this.

I saw one of your paintings/prints for sale elsewhere online. How do I know if the painting or print is genuine?…

…Each original painting and print, weather limited edition or open edition is artist signed, numbered (where relevant) and also is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity also signed and sealed by myself. If you are unsure as the the legitimacy of the item please do not buy it and contact me to discuss further.

What type of printing is used to make your prints and what quality can I expect?…

…All Limited and Open edition prints are published by our master printer who prints the finest quality Giclee prints for artists and celebrities alike, so you can be sure your print will be of the highest quality. We also offer the option of certain pieces of artwork to be printed onto stretched canvas as these are also produced by the same printer and again of the highest quality.

How many photographs will I need to supply for you to be able to do a private commission?…

…I will paint your treasured memory from that one special photo. If you choose to send more then you are very welcome to and these will certainly help with reference but they are not usually needed.

Does my photo have to be in digital or physical format?…

…Either digital or physical format is fine. Please be reassured that if working form a physical photograph that I shall keep it in a protective plastic sleeve at all times to prevent damage.

My chosen photo is old, damaged and/or burry; can you still work form it?…

…Yes within reason. It certainly does not have to be a professional HD photograph.for me to create your beautiful memory in a painting. However if there are some missing details I may ask for some further reference photos.

How long will it take for my private commissioned painting to be created and delivered back to me?…

…Usually 4-6 weeks. However last bookings for delivery prior to Christmas must be submitted by the 1st of November. Anything booked after this time cannot be guaranteed pre-Christmas delivery.  If you require your painting for a specific date which falls before the 6 weeks then please let me know as I will do everything I can to help.

How do I pay for my privately commissioned painting?…

…50% deposit on booking and then the remaining balance will be due prior to delivery.

What payment methods to you accept?…

…You can pay for your painting by either cash, debit or credit card, bank transfer, Paypal, bank cheque or postal order.

Please note:You do not need to have a Paypal account to use the Paypal checkout on this website. Paypal is simply the company which manages payments and my shopping cart facility for me since they are very secure and reliable for online payments and can safely and securely process payments from your credit or debit card.

Also, please be aware that when paying by cheque or postal order, nothing will be sent out to you or in the case of private commissions, your painting will not be started until the funds have cleared.
